EG Summer program 2026

This year's programme celebrates artistic encounters across cultures, bringing together outstanding musicians and performers from Norway and around the world for a season of intimate concerts and performances throughout July, August and September.

At E&G, we believe that great art is created through dialogue, curiosity and human connection. Our summer programme reflects this vision by presenting artists who explore the boundaries between jazz, contemporary music, literature and performance. Every event offers a unique experience, giving audiences the opportunity to discover new artistic voices while enjoying the close atmosphere of our theatre.

The season opens on 4 July with the Opening Concert by Eilertsen–Berg–Oosting, setting the tone for a summer filled with improvisation, collaboration and musical exploration. Throughout July, we continue with the internationally artist Amano de Londra Miura, bringing together musical traditions from Ireland and Japan, followed by TID, where acclaimed bassist Steinar Raknes joins celebrated Norwegian author Lars Saabye Christensen in a unique collaboration that blends music and poetry. In August, we welcome the Spanish performance This Is Not a Body, an interdisciplinary work by Koset Quintana and Gara Hernández Sánchez that explores movement, identity and the body through a contemporary artistic language.

As autumn approaches, the programme continues with some of Norway's most exciting voices in contemporary jazz. Pianist Liv Andrea Hauge presents Vinterhagen, followed by saxophonist Signe Emmeluth and her powerful ensemble Emmeluth's Amoeba. The season concludes with Stillhouse Duo, where Steinar Raknes and singer-songwriter Unni Wilhelmsen come together for an intimate evening of original music, storytelling and lyrical expression.
